A writer is a person who writes every day. However, sometimes it is hard to find the time or the space and energy for creative writing. The Petersburg Public Library wants to create a place where local writers can drop in for an informal sharing of ideas and creative works online.
Maybe you only have fifteen minutes. That is enough time to respond to one of our weekly prompts, and hone your writing skills. Think of it as regular exercise for your mind. Maybe you are inspired to write a poem, an observation, a short story or memory. Fiction and nonfiction are welcome. We are seeking to create an encouraging, constructive online community, less focused on structure and more focused on imagination and self-expression.
The Writer’s group was meeting monthly at the library, but now we are offering this online forum as a less scheduled way to share our work. Please contact Chris or Julie at the Public Library with comments and ideas about how this blog can reach out and serve the needs of writers in the Petersburg area.
